ABOUT

One operator. Accountable end to end.

ML LABS is not a bench or an agency. It is one accountable engineer, leveraged by AI agents — the name on the written plan is the name in the code, from the first scoping call to production. When something matters at 2 a.m., you know exactly who answers.

The operator

Omar Trejo scopes, builds, and delivers every engagement. Fifteen-plus years of AI systems across the range — Fortune 500 to early-stage startups — with a background in software, economics, and mathematics. One decision-maker, no handoffs, nothing lost in translation. The references on this site are for Omar personally, because the person doing the work is the person you are hiring.

That is also why it is fast. In software the quickest path to production is the system you never have to rebuild, and a single operator with no handoff layer gets there without the friction of a team.

The method

An AI agent is a system, not a demo. We apply systems thinking to it: engineer the feedback loops, find the one constraint holding throughput back, apply leverage where the return is largest, and keep work flowing to production. Most AI projects never make it past the demo because no one closes the loop. We engineer the loop.

The practice

ML LABS operates both its own products and clients'. The internal portfolio grows continuously and lives under Escape Velocity Labs, a sister practice under the same owner. When we say production, we mean ours too — we run the systems we build, not just hand them off.

The guarantee

Fixed scope, a written plan, and measurable targets set before work starts. Targets are written into the contract before work starts. Design and Build carry a full refund until acceptance — you sign when it's proven, or, once we've shown the targets met in writing, a 15-business-day evaluation window runs and closing it without naming a missed target is acceptance too. Either way you give up the system, not the money. Operate is different on purpose: no refunds, no lock-in — cancel any time with 30 days' notice.
